Weekend progress

We have not been able to get in contact with Chelsey recently for unknown reasons. So rather than halting work entirely we have decided to create more detailed plans of our project and our aims for the final 2 documentaries. Here is a rough plan for the second idea, the first should be uploaded soon. We are also planning to take a trip down to the park again next Saturday to get some sounds of the park and of the 5k run!

Photos from the Park!

As Dan posted on the blog the other day, we visited the park on Tuesday to meet with Chelsey. she provided us with a lot of information on the history of the park, and how they envision the park to look when it is finished.

One of the things they are looking to spend some of their budget on is the restoration of the fountain, which as you can see in the picture below is in dire need of a little TLC.

We also found out that they have already moved and recreated the parks child play area, to make it safer and more stimulating to younger children.

Hopefully soon we will have a running order sorted so we can start recording the final piece!

First steps

As we have decided to do our Radio documentary specifically on the past, present, and future of Boultham park, contact was made early on with Chelsey Barnes, who is a community development worker, and is involved quite heavily in Linkage’s restoration of Boultham Park. She has approved of our idea, and we are set to meet her at the park Tuesday afternoon to discuss what she can help us with, such as setting up interviews, and relaying resources on to us for research.

If you’d like to learn more about Linkage, and/or Boultham Park, there are some links to further information here:
